Hello all,

first of all, i am not a Datawarehouse expert so apologize for my question.

In DW environments it is good practice to fill tables via the partition exchange loader.

What i want to know is:

- Are there any known problems with this?
- Advantages/Disadvantages of this

The background of these questions is that i am on customer site who is using this. And a third party development company saw a critical problem with this loading behavior.

Thanx in advance

Ulli

Partition Exchange Load (PEL) is the fastest way to load data in a Oracle Data Warehouse database.

Check http://download-east.oracle.com/docs/pdf/B12146_01.pdf
and look for Partition Exchange Load subject, page 379.

Additionaly users will NOT get the "Snapshot to old" error, since the load is a single transaction.

I've done this manually and with Oracle Warehouse Builder provided solution. OWB is better.

Thanks
