desupported means?

oracle does not provide any help? is that what you mean?

I only have to develop a form and report, call the report

from form using oracle 8, forms 5, i want to make sure that

it will work before i install d2k.......

(my hardware guy is asking me to confirm that oracle 8 is

indeed compatible with forms5, reports5, d2k), before he

can install it, so that i can carry on

Yes, that's exactly what I mean: Oracle provides no support. The products are no longer distributed by Oracle, so you cannot obtain a license for it anymore.

The database is installed on a server, and Developer on a client. If you would encounter problems I'd say it's on OS level. I've seen Developer R2 work on a 7.3, 8.0.6 and even an 8i so I think you can safely install it (technically spoken) but if you would go for a production site I would not recommend it (particularly because you haven't got a license)
