Want to view jpeg image using READ_IMAGE_FILE function. This function is working well with 24-bit color mode, while i want to view it in 8-bit color moide. Is there any other option to render this??

Isn't the mode determined by the depth of the image?

Have a look at http://cs-netlab-01.lynchburg.edu/courses/Oracle/PPTSlides/08ch.ppt. The 'depth' would appear to be defined at storage time.

Problem has been resolved .................
Actually i want to render 8 bit color mode image to 24 bit using jpeg and developer form restrict that. it would be possible in GIF and other file formats
