Hi,
We are upgrading from oracle 4.5 to 6i. In forms 4.5, we were using escape+m to select the menu. Forms 6i help ( ctrl+F) shows that F14 is the key for selecting menu. How do we use F14 for selecting the menu? I tried shift+F4 ..but it is not working.

Please help.

Thanks for the reply. I have tried shift+F2. But it is not working. I have also tried ctrl+F2, but even this doesn't seem to be working.
We use putty to telnet to our test machine. In this if I use shift+F4, menu gets selected. But if we use command prompt and telnet to our test machine, shift+F4 does not select menu.( not any of the combinations shift+F2 or ctrl+F2 or ctrl+F4 are not working)
We are exporting oraterm variable as ORATERM=vt220.

Is it an issue with terminal? But earlier(i,e in forms 4.5)
escape+m was working in both the cases( i,e telnet from putty and telnet from command prompt).
Is there any way by which I can override the default key and make it work with both the terminals?

Thanks.

What results do you get from pressing Ctrl-k while in each environment?

And the list of short-cuts say what? Is the F14 key shown on the two lists?

I think you need to look at the key mappings that you used for your 4.5 implementation and you current default definitions for 6i.

Have a look at http://www.orafaq.com/forum/m/142310/67467/?srch=RES#msg_142310

Thanks for the reply. In forms 4.5 we used escape+m to select the menu, it worked in both the environments. I went through the link you sent. It is given that fmrusw.res needs to be changed through oracle terminal and "ot" is the executable.

We are using SUN OS ( version 5.6) and exporting ORATERM=vt220.Which is the frm*.res file I need to change to set the key mappings as in forms 4.5? Is it fmrcvt220.res or some other file? Which executable needs to be run for using oracle terminal?

Thanks.

I did a search for 'oracle terminal' and found http://www.orafaq.com/forum/m/142281/67467/?srch=oracle+terminal#msg_142281 it mentions a metalink file.

Have a look at it.
