Hi,

I have a windows XP. I have installed oracle through one user. Even when I logon as another user oracle.exe gets started every time. It slows down other applications uses lot of memory.

1) What is the use of this oracle.exe running every time I logon?
2) Is there anyway to let it run only when I am working on oracle?
3) If I kill it through task manager is it a problem?

Thanks

1) It is the Oracle instance, it is not a user process but a service.
2) Yes put the service in manual mode and start it when you want
3) No
