Hi,

OS = xp service pack 2
ORacle= 9i

i have a service running oracleserviceTEST how can i change the service name in windows xp.

Hopfully...

Use ORADIM to drop and recreate the instance service.

Thank you michle i will have a look on oradim utility to learn more about oradim. For now i just wanted to change the display name of my service. I did this with the following

SC config oracleserviceTEST displayname= "NEW_NAME"

This does not change the instance name and I doubt this is supported by Oracle.
